Terms of Service

Last updated: June 23, 2026

Acceptance

By creating an account or using coQuarters you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The service

coQuarters helps households track shared expenses, chores, lists, and notes. It is an organizational tool. It records balances you and your roommates enter and provides links to third-party apps (such as Venmo or Cash App) to settle up. coQuarters does not move money, hold funds, or act as a bank, payment processor, or escrow. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for actually settling balances between yourselves.

Your account

Keep your password secure and your details accurate. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use coQuarters.

Free trial and subscriptions

New households get a 30-day free trial of the entire app, and we do not ask for a card to start it. When the trial ends, continuing to use coQuarters requires a subscription: $39.99 per year or $4.99 per month, billed per household through Stripe. There is no free tier after the trial. One subscription covers every roommate in the household, up to 12 people, and only one person pays.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time and access continues to the end of the current billing period. Prices may change with notice for future terms.

If a household has no active subscription after the trial, access to the app is suspended, but your data is not deleted. You can export everything at any time, including from the subscribe screen itself, and you can delete your account and its data whenever you choose.

Refunds

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable, including for partial billing periods. When you cancel, your Pro access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for and you will not be charged again. If you think you were charged in error, email us and we will look into it. Nothing here limits any refund rights you may have under applicable law.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no unlawful activity, no attempts to breach security or disrupt the service, and no uploading of content you do not have the right to share. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you add. You grant us the limited right to store and process it to operate the app for you and your household.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that balances, splits, or reminders are error-free; verify important amounts yourself.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, coQuarters is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any financial disputes between household members. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months.

Termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end access for violations of these Terms.

Operator and governing law

coQuarters is an independent app operated from Oregon, United States. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Oregon. Questions about who operates the service can be sent to the contact address below.

Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
